American - Red: Syrah

A Krupp Brothers Estate wine. A brilliant crimson red color. Aromas of mocha, black raspberries and pepper that lead to a full-flavored palate of currants, blackberries, pepper and spice closing with a long, memorable finish. Drink now through 2016.

This wine has a deep color and a classic Syrah aroma of green & black peppercorn combined with a woodsy and pine character. The flavor is a concentrated dark berry fruit almost like dried cherries and cranberries. The fruit flavor is intense and very complex. The wine has a long and lingering finish. Delicious!

Intense aromatics of freshly cracked pepper and raspberry jam on the nose. The entry is full with dark red fruits filling the mouth almost immediately. Bold but integrated tannins; delicious long finish.

Awaken your sixth sense to this shadowy concoction of spine-tingling intensity. Smoky layers of white pepper, cigar box cedar, and toasty mesquite meld easily with spicy plum and rich gooseberry. Scare yourself sober with this hair-raising Syrah.

The 2004 Novy Rosella's Vineyard Syrah displays a beautiful color with a lush texture. The wine also has good natural acidity and silky tannins that give it great structure and backbone. Aromas of blackberries, cream, and raspberries. The mouthfeel is explosive and the finish is long. This wine is great on its own but, will also pair well with red meat dishes.

Just one sniff and you will be carried by the aromas of dark roasted coffee, violets, plums, and earthy mushrooms. Justice is strong- with bursting flavors of ripe currant, blueberry, and smokey bacon. This wine finishes with a long, lush finish of eucalyptus and a hint of ruby grapefruit rind.

The aroma of this wine is one of dark fruits. The intensity of the flavors is in pleasing contrast with the supple texture and the lengthy aftertaste. Approachable now, this wine will easily improve for at least another 5 years.

This wine is opaque ruby in color and very youthful looking. Dramatic aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cassis lead to a very full bodied wine on the palate that exhibits powerfully rich, dense, concentrated blackberry, plum and wild game flavors. The remarkably intense and nuanced finish makes the 2003 Star Lane Syrah a candidate for extended aging.
